Are you a starter or junior with a passion for laboratory work and analytical techniques? For an international organization in the Leiden region, I am looking for a Lab Technician who wants to contribute to a specialized deposit team. In this role, you will work with a variety of samples and support analyses that directly impact industrial processes.
What will you do?
As a Lab Technician, you support the laboratory team in performing analyses on deposits originating from water systems, such as pulp, paper, oil and other sources. You work according to established procedures and perform both qualitative and quantitative measurements. You are also responsible for sample preparation, using equipment such as ovens, grinding machines, and pellet presses, enabling further analysis through X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and infrared spectroscopy.
You help maintain a safe and well-organized lab environment by carrying out routine checks, instrument calibration, and preventive maintenance. In addition, you assist in writing and maintaining protocols and documentation within the LIMS system.
Who are you?
- Minimum MBO4 qualification in a relevant field, such as MLO or other laboratory education.
- At least 2 years of work experience in a laboratory.
- A basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and analytical methods is required.
- A meticulous and organised approach to work.
- Good command of English; Dutch is not required.
- Ability to lift light to heavy loads when moving samples and related items.
